Jason Dolley and on-screen dad Eric Allan Kramer do a little tango in this new still from Good Luck Charlie.

In the upcoming episode “Gabe’s 12 1/2 Birthday,” Gabe’s (Bradley Steven Perry) 12th birthday party has continually been cancelled for months, so Amy (Leigh-Allyn Baker) and Bob (Kramer) promise him a party to celebrate his 12-1/2 birthday if he can be nice for one week.

He pulls it off but a huge snow storm prevents them from going anywhere, so Amy, Bob and the rest of the family pull together to throw Gabe his most memorable party yet.

Meanwhile, Teddy (Bridgit Mendler) and Ivy (Raven Goodwin) get into an argument because Ivy doesn’t like Derek (Reid Ewing).

Regretting the fight, Teddy heads over to Ivy’s just as Ivy heads to Teddy’s, and unfortunately for them, they get snowed in and stuck with each other’s parents.

Bella Thorne, Bridgit Mendler, Mia Talerico, Leigh-Allyn Baker and Zendaya get their dance on in this new still from the Good Luck Charlie and Shake It Up crossover episode.

In “Charlie Shakes It Up,” Teddy (Mendler), Amy (Baker) and Charlie (Talerico) travel to Chicago to visit their Aunt Nell, but through a series of mix ups, they wind up on the set of “Shake It Up Chicago,” where they are mistaken for the famous hip-hop duo, “The Duncan Sisters.”

Amy convinces Teddy that this could be her only shot on television, so with the help of Rocky (Zendaya) and Cece (Thorne), they come up with a winning dance number, with Charlie joining them for the big finish.

Meanwhile, back at home, Gabe (Bradley Steven Perry) and PJ (Jason Dolley) host a garage sale and end up accidentally selling Mrs. Dabney an old cat jar filled with money.

With teen kids and their bands all the rage these days, leave it to the folks over at the mouse-eared Walt Disney company to infuse a little modern song and dance of their own.  The result is the music driven flick “Lemonade Mouth” (on shelves May 24 from Disney DVD) about five very different kids who form an unlikely musical connection.  Check out the review and extras below.

The Flick: In what feels like “The Breakfast Club” light meets “School of Rock,” “Lemonade Mouth” is surprisingly good.  Keeping the John Hughes mold and filtering it through the Disney format, five kids including the Sheedy spaz (moody gal Bridgit Mendler), Hall’s geek (quiet and thoughtful Adam Hicks), Ringwald’s hottie (tough chick Naomi Scott), Nelson’s outcast (heartthrob Blake Michael) and mix of all of the above (inspiring gal pal Hayley Kiyoko) all meet in detention and under the eye of Martin star Tisha Campbell–Martin form a pretty cool band named “Lemonade Mouth.”  The songs are toe tapping (LOVE Determinate!), the drama decent (like the awkward young relationship between Hicks and Mendler!) and cheesy Disney humor fully intact (Principal Christopher McDonald is even more goofy then he was in Thelma & Louise!), but all in all an enjoyable flick.       

Best Feature: Extended performance of Living’ on a High Wire – again the music is memorable here.

Best Hidden Gem: For those who want to become future band kids (no, not future Justin Biebers!) there is a Rock-Along that works like a karaoke for the flick – rock on.

Worth the Moola: For those who don’t mind their high school flicks recycled in a creative way and put to some good music, pucker up baby!

The casts of Good Luck Charlie and Shake It Up have fun with the JJJ coasters in this behind-the-scenes pic from the big crossover event happening THIS SUNDAY!

We were lucky enough to catch the two casts on set the day of shooting and found out about the episode, how Bridgit Mendler’s dancing skills were and the baseball rivalry going on. Check it:

JJJ: How did the crossover come about?
Bradley Steven Perry: We knew we were going to do a crossover with them eventually
Adam Irigoyen: We’ re right next door to each other, so it was bound to happen.
Bridgit Mendler: Leigh [Allyn Baker] and I found out we were dancing, like, a week before, that was fun.

JJJ: Since Gabe and PJ are back in Denver, could you see them dancing as well as Teddy and Amy?
BSP: Nope. Nope.
Jason Dolley: Not even close. [I can do some] Irish step dancing, but I would not fit in at all.

JJJ: Bridgit, was it difficult for you to pick up the dance routine?
BM: I think my main hurdle was like, the dance confidence. I’ m not exactly the most
confident dancer. The first day, I, you know, roughly got the choreography down.
The second day we kind of more figured it out. And I think by the end we were more
comfortable with the material, so, we’ re happy with it.
JD: It looked fantastic.

JJJ: Did any of you have an idea in your head before about a crossover?
JD: We had a thought where we would cross paths on the planes.
BSP: But they obviously couldn’t be coming to us because…the Duncans are just like a very normal family that lives in a track home, so how do they get to our house? It would just be really weird. So I just had a feeling that we would be going to Chicago, but…not me!

JJJ: If you were to add another Disney Channel show for the crossover which would it be?
BSP: We could do the Suite Life? We could go on a boat.
JD: They could have like, the Shake It Up show, like a showcase, on the cruise ship and then The Duncans could win a trip or something like that. Yeah, that could happen! I’ d be cool with that.

JJJ: Bella and Zendaya, how did you like crossing over with Good Luck Charlie?
Bella Thorne: Their set is so welcoming, and everybody there is really nice, and I’ve never…I haven’ t met Bridgit before, before the show, which is really exciting to meet her, because she’ s really sweet. And I’ ve met Jason before, and I definitely, definitely met Bradley before.
BSP: She’ s a Yankees fan [JJJ Note: He's not]
Zendaya: It’s a new experience, and it’s two totally different shows that are colliding together, and it’s creating this hilarious episode, and every one of these people here right now is like, super talented, and I’ m just lucky that I get to work with them.

JJJ: What did you think of Bridgit and Leigh’s dancing?
Zendaya: They surprised us!
BT: They’re really good! I was really, really impressed because Leigh, I don’ t think has really danced before, and Bridgit danced when she was younger…
BM: A LOT younger
BT: She hasn’t done it recently, you know, her character is not so much into the dancing, but they’re really, really good. I’ m excited to see how it all turns out, so it was fun shooting.
BM: I’ m kinda nervous. Thanks guys.

JJJ: Adam, we heard that you’ve found a new friend in Mia.
AI: I did! I found out that Mia likes a lot of goldfish. She really does. She loves goldfish. And the color purple. That’ s been my learning experience.
BM: I also learned that Mia has a huge crush on Davis. And he was definitely using some pick up lines on her.
(everyone laughs)
AI: He definitely went up to Mia and just said, “Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?” It was pretty awesome.

JJJ: Bridgit, did Teddy’s wardrobe change at all?
BM: No, not really. This week Teddy is definitely going for I think the Denver vibe with her apparel. She wears her big jacket, and this nice flannel…which I’m wearing it right now. It was a good Teddy Duncan wardrobe, but nothing out of the ordinary. But for the performance outfit, I go totally glitz and glam. All sorts of glitter all over the place, a fedora…. an iron-on tie! That was cool. I haven’t seen my outfit for the last scene.”

Lemonade Mouth is the next rock n’ roll movie from Disney channel. With a name like that, it’s sure to intrigue both kids and their parents. The show’s stars did their best to explain it, while keeping it a mystery. Bridgit Mendler admitted it’s a tongue twister.

“When I first got the audition for it, I think I got the name wrong like three times,” Mendler said. “I thought it was Lemonhead, Lemons, just something about lemons. You’ll have to watch the movie to find out what the story is behind the name.”

Her costar Adam Hicks said the film explains it, but you’ll have to watch the film. “There’s a secret little scene that really explains it all so can’t give too much away,” Hicks said.

While they wouldn’t fully explain the title, some of the other musician/actors in the film elaborated more. Hayley Kiyoko said Lemonade Mouth is a positive message.

“As a movie, it’s about self-expression for me,” Kiyoko said. “Individuality is extremely important. It’s sometimes hard in high school because you have all these pressures of blending in and just getting through and you learn as you grow up, it’s good to be different. I think it’s important to embrace that and be confident with who you are and be happy with who you are. You meet friends along the way and let them support you. Let them be your support because you don’t want to go through high school alone. Also it was cool because Lemonade Mouth was kind of our story because we became best friends, all the actors. We loved playing music together so it’s really touching. We watch the film and we get choked up because remember that time, and that time.”

Naomi Scott said there’s more to Lemonade Mouth than just self-confidence. “Lemonade Mouth means to me being heard, standing up for what you believe in and cherishing friendship definitely,” Scott said. “It’s one of those things, it does sound cheesy but it is so true. Those messages are really portrayed in the film. At the end of the day, it’s cheesy but you do need to stay true to yourself. You do need to stand up for what you believe in and you do need to cherish friendship. Everyone in Lemonade Mouth is from a different walk of life and they all come together, complement each other brilliantly and form this band. It’s about the ups and downs of friendship.”

Nick Roux said that Lemonade Mouth can include the process of self-growth. “I’d say it just means to stay true to yourself and to your family,” Roux said. “You know who you are. If you don’t know who you are, find who you are but whoever that is, once you have that grasp, don’t let go of it and don’t let anybody change you. You see how friendships and family help you through life and how those things are so key to having a successful and enjoyable life.”

Blake Michael added, “Lemonade Mouth to me, those two words mean standing up for what you believe in and doing what you think is right.”

Lemonade Mouth premieres Friday, April 15 at 8 on The Disney Channel.

Be sure to tune in to the Disney Channel on May 15, 2011 for a brand new episode of “Good Luck Charlie” titled “The Break Up.” During the episode Charlie tries to break up with Derek, but he keeps doing nice things for her so she can’t seem to find the right time to share the bad news with him!

Also in the episode Amy volunteers to coach Gabe’s new hockey team, but her competitive nature ends up backfiring on her and Gabe accidentally hits the puck into her teeth – ouch!

Bridgit Mendler may be the next big thing and Disney seems to agree. The network has cast her as the lead in their latest hottest property Lemonade Mouth. The book about five Rhode Island teens who meet in detention and form a band is being developed to take Disney forward with a new crop of teen stars. Mendler will play Olivia and joining her is Hayley Kiyoko (Stella,) Adam Hicks (Wen,) Naomi Scott (Mo,) and Blake Michael (Charlie.)

Production has started in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the made for TV movie will hit sometime in 2011.

High School Musical is done (at least the original.) Camp Rock 2 will hit soon and that will be over. Wizards of Waverly Place and Hannah Montana are ending their series soon and the House of Mouse needs some replacement material and new talent to develop.

Lemonade Mouth is a great book and could be so fun. I’m looking forward to it.

Meet new pal JJJ Blake Michael!

It’s hard to believe that this talented young actor is only 14, but he is!We caught up with future star of Lemonade mouth and learned that it was discovered in a Nashville open casting call by Disney.Ver, casting calls work!

Blake shared with us, “is surprising.” My mom and I expelled all the way to Nashville in Atlanta, which is where I live.Entered in the open call and led us to the right rear later and called A the next day we did the same trip to Nashville.Llegué meet Judy Taylor, who is the President of Disney’s foundry and before that I knew, I was auditioning for various projects for Disney.”

It will be starring Blake as Charlie at the mouth of forthcoming Lemonade with Bridgit Mendler and Hayley Kiyoko.

A new TV show arrives on our screens! Indeed, it’s about

The TV show begins with surprise! The heroine, Teddy (Bridgit Mendler) invites a classmate at home to work on physics. It was without counting on her family which is at least annoying! All along the episode, she tries by all means to kiss him but she doesn’t succeed, disturbed in any situations by her family. His brother, PJ (Jason Dolley), who dreams to become a rock star, trains in the garage with his friend, who, him, tries by all means to catch the attention of his best friend’s sister. The brother on the other hand always finds an opportunity to annoy her sister. Both teenagers aren’t the only children of the family because they also have a little sister and a little brother. The parents, them, the father, the exterminator of insects, and the mother working in a hospital, are as crazy as their children.

This first episode is a success! Our actors manage to convince with big humor and reserve us lots of surprises for the next episodes, doubtless. We hope that thanks to this series Bridgit Mendler will become famous and reach the status of international star within Disney Channel. Series to be followed!

The new series Good Luck Charlie finally arrives on the Disney Channel France and it is from 1 September 2010 at 18:00.

The Duncan family has just welcomed a new member, Charlie a little girl of 9 months, the only problem is that having a baby in a house where there are already three teenagers, this is not a pleasure for everyone! So everyone should make an effort to find you a place to recreate a balance around the adorable little girl.

Now Bridgit stars in her own show playing Teddy Duncan on the Disney Channel’s new series “Good Luck Charlie,” which revolves around the Duncan family as they try to adjust to the birth of their fourth child. A self-described “klutz”, Bridgit is humble and self-deprecating, and well on her way to a huge career.

ACTOR2WATCH: What was your first big break?

BRIDGIT MENDLER: I did this one scene in an episode of “General Hospital,” and that was my first job down in L.A.  It was like my second audition and I was like, “Woo! This is easy! This is fun!” That was a really cool moment for me. I think probably my break would be when I started working with Disney Channel on “Jonas.” That really got the ball rolling.

A2W: What kind of training did you get?

BM: I did this class when I first moved to California. It was a Kids on Camera class up in the Bay Area. That was good for just getting me excited in acting and everything.  Then once I started working down L.A., I just stuck to my acting coach and she helps me prepare with auditions and that sort of thing. Her name is Robin Lively. She’s awesome.

A2W: Tell us how you got the role.

BM: I had worked on “Jonas” and “Wizards of Waverly Place” with Disney Channel. I was actually just starting to film “Wizards” for the first time when I got the script for “Good Luck Charlie.” They had me come in and audition for them, and I and I wound up getting the part. We shot the pilot just a month or so later, and it’s been really, really great to work on.

A2W: What role does Twitter play in your career?

BM: I don’t want to be one of those people that’s constantly promoting myself on Twitter.  I think the fun thing about Twitter is being able to share all the little random things that happen in my life. So, occasionally, occasionally, I’ll throw in some “Good Luck Charlie” promotion just because I love that show so much. Besides that, yeah, I like to take pictures of things I see, and talk about places I’ve been.

A2W: What is your dream role?

BM: My thing is I want to do a really broad spectrum of things. I love that I’m working on a sitcom right now and I think it’s awesome to be able to make people laugh and have a great time, and have the live audience. I think that’s so cool.

But I do think that throughout my acting, I want to do a really wide range of things and if that means doing an action movie, that would be awesome or doing some really intense drama. I want to do it all.

A2W: Do you have any tips for novices or is there anything you wish someone had told you when you first started out in acting?

BM: I think the important thing to know is that it’s not easy, and that it does take a lot of work. Even if you get lucky with a certain thing, it’s going to take a lot of effort to really make things work in the acting career.

It’s also a big commitment if you’re under the age of 18 to have your family supporting you. It’s really important to have a good team of people surrounding you because it does take a lot of your life.
